Seminar Series “Reframing Bangladesh” launched to demand Justice for Hadi

New Seminar Series “Reframing Bangladesh” Launched by ‘Citizen Initiative’, Demanding Justice for the Killing of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi at the University of Dhaka

Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi was moving forward with the vision of building a just and inclusive Bangladesh, an “Insaf-based” nation envisioned by the martyrs of the July uprising. However, following his killing, the struggle to achieve that justice has now fallen upon his family members and fellow activists, who are once again compelled to fight for accountability.

As part of the ongoing movement to establish justice, Citizen Initiative (CI) is launching a new seminar series titled “Reframing Bangladesh”, dedicated to demanding justice for the killing of its first martyred community member, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, and in tribute to his memory.

The first seminar in the series focused on the topic:
“The Killing of Shaheed Osman Hadi: Justice, State Crisis, and Authoritarian Structures.”

The seminar was held tomorrow, Saturday, at 3:00 PM at the R. C. Majumdar Auditorium, University of Dhaka. The event is being jointly organized by Citizen Initiative and the Center for Governance and Civilizational Studies (CGCS).

Participated by a group of speakers, including Faruk Wasif (Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh), Ali Ahsan Zonaed (Convenor of Up Bangladesh), Barrister Shyikh Mahdi (Prosecutor, International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh), Mohammad Sajal (Activist), the discussion aims to critically examine issues of justice, state failure, and dominant power structures in the broader context of building the Bangladesh envisioned by the martyrs of the July uprising.
